Happy Wheels has been released just as the tragic, blasphemous shutdown of Flash is imminent. That was quite a tense moment. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope that the anxiety over Losing Happy Wheels didn’t keep you from getting a good night’s sleep. If you weren’t aware that the game was in development, here’s some exciting news: this marks the first public release of the game. Please bear with us as we work to resolve any remaining bugs. While I still prefer the original Flash version, I appreciate that this new version runs exceptionally well on mobile devices. Currently, however, there are no on-screen mobile controls in this release—that feature will be included in the next update. Thank you for your patience. If you're eager to try it out on your phone right now, using a Bluetooth keyboard works very effectively. Although I initially stated that the game would run at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels can run noticeably slower at that framerate. Fortunately, that setting is adjustable. I might even host a separate version targeting 60Hz for users with high-performance CPUs. The rest of Happy Wheels JS aims to faithfully replicate the original’s design and gameplay experience. The user database, levels, and replays remain intact since the initial launch, with the only loss being the impending doom of the universe’s end.
